What this site collects, and why.

Trickjar is a waitlist for now. This page explains, in plain language, what trickjar.com collects, what we do with it, and who else is involved.
If you join the waitlist
We store:
- your email address;
- your company name, if you give one;
- the seats band you pick;
- a hashed version of your IP address, scrambled with a secret key. We never store the IP address itself. We use the hash to stop spam and repeated signups;
- your browser's user agent: the browser and device type it reports;
- your Google Analytics client ID and session ID, but only if analytics is allowed for you (see below). They let us see which visit led to the signup;
- the date and time you signed up.
We use this to tell you when Trickjar is ready and to understand who is interested. We don't sell it, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 shows us which pages and messages work. It runs with Google Consent Mode:
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you click Accept in the cookie banner.
- Everywhere else, analytics is on by default. You can switch it off at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
- Advertising features are off for everyone. We don't run ads.
- While analytics is off, Google Analytics still receives basic visit signals without cookies or a client ID. Google calls these cookieless pings.
When analytics is on, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_Y8BMPQPW66, which by default last up to two years. Your choice in the banner is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie.
Ahrefs Web Analytics counts page views without cookies.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. It isn't used for visitors in the EU.
Who else handles data
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it. Every request passes through Cloudflare, which sees your IP address and country. We use the country only to decide whether to show the cookie banner.
- DreamHost hosts the site and the waitlist database, in the United States. The connection between the site and the database is encrypted.
- Google serves the fonts (Google Fonts), so your browser connects to Google when the page loads. Google also runs Google Analytics.
- Ahrefs runs Ahrefs Web Analytics.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist entry until you ask us to delete it, and for no longer than 24 months after you sign up. Database backups are kept for 14 days, so a deleted entry is gone from the backups within 14 days.
Your choices
- To see, correct or delete your waitlist entry, email privacy@trickjar.com from the address you signed up with. We'll do it and confirm by reply.
- To change your analytics choice, use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page.
